Sausage Gravy Biscuit Pie (Print)

Sausage gravy and tender biscuits combine for a warm, filling meal enjoyed at any time of day.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat

01 - 450 g pork sausage

→ Dairy

02 - 480 ml whole milk

→ Bakery

03 - 8 biscuits, pre-made or homemade

→ Dry Goods

04 - 30 g all-purpose flour

→ Seasonings

05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 0.5 teaspoon ground sage
08 - 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

# Steps:

01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
02 - Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the cooked sausage. Stir and cook for 2 minutes to remove the raw flour flavor. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to achieve a smooth consistency. Continue to simmer, stirring, until the gravy thickens, approximately 5–7 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, ground sage, and, if desired, red pepper flakes.
03 - Set the oven to 190°C and allow it to preheat.
04 - Grease a baking dish and arrange the biscuits inside, leaving whole or halving as needed to fit. Evenly pour the hot sausage gravy over the biscuits, ensuring full coverage.
05 - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the gravy is bubbling.
06 - Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before portioning. Serve warm, ensuring each serving includes both biscuit and sausage gravy.

# Notes:

01 - For extra richness, add a layer of shredded cheese on top before baking.
02 - Pairs well with scrambled eggs or a side of fresh fruit.
