Old Fashioned Pound Cake (Print)

Buttery, dense pound cake baked in a tube pan. Enjoy with fruit toppings or a simple glaze.

# Ingredients:

→ Cake Base

01 - 227 grams unsalted butter, softened
02 - 400 grams all-purpose flour
03 - 400 grams granulated sugar
04 - 6 large eggs, at room temperature

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a tube pan thoroughly.
02 - In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and light in texture.
03 - Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully blended.
04 - Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing in 60-gram increments, and combine just until a smooth batter forms.
05 - Pour batter evenly into prepared tube pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
06 - Allow to cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

# Notes:

01 - For enhanced flavor, incorporate 5 milliliters vanilla extract into the batter if desired.
