Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a tube pan thoroughly.

In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and light in texture.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully blended.

Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing in 60-gram increments, and combine just until a smooth batter forms.

Pour batter evenly into prepared tube pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow to cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
