Hobo Casserole Ground Beef (Print)

Tender potatoes, ground beef, and cheese baked into a comforting dish perfect for easy family dinners.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 450 grams ground beef
02 - 4 to 5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
03 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Cheeses

05 - 170 grams cheddar cheese, shredded
06 - 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated

→ Liquids

07 - 120 millilitres beef broth or water

→ Seasonings

08 - Salt, to taste
09 - Black pepper, to taste
10 - Italian seasoning, to taste
11 - Paprika, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Set oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 33 x 23 cm baking dish.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with a drizzle of olive oil for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
03 - Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet, sauté until softened and fragrant.
04 - Transfer beef mixture to prepared baking dish. Spread evenly. Arrange thinly sliced potatoes in an overlapping layer on top.
05 - Season potatoes with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan over potatoes.
06 - Pour beef broth or water evenly around the edges of the dish.
07 - Cover dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
08 - Remove foil and continue to bake for 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are fork-tender and cheese is golden and bubbling.
