Set oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 33 x 23 cm baking dish.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with a drizzle of olive oil for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet, sauté until softened and fragrant.

Transfer beef mixture to prepared baking dish. Spread evenly. Arrange thinly sliced potatoes in an overlapping layer on top.

Season potatoes with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan over potatoes.

Pour beef broth or water evenly around the edges of the dish.

Cover dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove foil and continue to bake for 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are fork-tender and cheese is golden and bubbling.
