Best BBQ Chicken Breast (Print)

Juicy BBQ chicken breast with a sweet glaze, cooked on grill or oven for tender, flavorful results.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

→ Seasoning

02 - Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
03 - Kosher salt, to taste
04 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Sauce

05 - 120 ml BBQ sauce (use preferred variety)

# Steps:

01 - For grilling, preheat grill for direct cooking at high heat (232°C). Clean the grates. For oven preparation, preheat oven to 232°C and line a baking sheet with aluminium foil.
02 - Drizzle chicken breasts with extra virgin olive oil and rub to coat evenly. Season each side liberally with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
03 - Place chicken breasts on the hot grill. Cover and cook for 5–6 minutes until easily released from the grates. Flip and grill for another 4–5 minutes. Baste breasts with BBQ sauce, flip, and grill 2 minutes per side, repeating on the opposite side. Continue to grill until chicken is firm and opaque throughout, reaching an internal temperature of 71°C.
04 - Transfer the grilled chicken breasts to a plate, cover loosely with aluminium foil, and rest for 5 minutes for juices to redistribute. Serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
05 - Place seasoned chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Brush the top of each breast with BBQ sauce, return to the oven, and bake for an additional 5–8 minutes until the sauce bubbles, begins to char, and the internal temperature reaches 71°C with clear juices.
06 - Allow the baked chicken to rest for several minutes until internal temperature rises to 74°C and juices settle before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Boneless, skinless chicken breasts yield tender results with quick cooking. Thighs or bone-in cuts can be used, increasing cooking time as needed.
