Seasoned minced meat and vegetables baked then paired with pickled cabbage for hearty German comfort.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 kg minced meat
02 - 2 eggs
03 - 30 g garlic, minced

04 - 200 g potatoes, grated
05 - 150 g carrot, grated
06 - 150 g onion, finely chopped
07 - 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
08 - 20 g dill and parsley, finely chopped
09 - 1 red onion, sliced
10 - 1 onion, sliced
11 - 250 g pickled cabbage with carrot, chopped
12 - 3 pickled cucumbers, chopped

→ Seasonings and Liquids

13 - 10 g salt
14 - 5 g black pepper
15 - 5 g red paprika
16 - 10 g sugar
17 - 5 ml vinegar
18 - 60 ml olive oil, divided
19 - 30 ml water

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 180°C and prepare a spacious baking tray.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine minced meat with grated potatoes, carrot, finely chopped onion, red bell pepper, dill, parsley, minced garlic, eggs, salt, black pepper, and paprika until homogenous.
03 - Spread the prepared meat mixture evenly across the baking tray to ensure consistent thickness and cooking.
04 - In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, vinegar, 30 ml olive oil, and water to create the marinade.
05 - Drizzle the marinade evenly over the meat mixture, allowing it to penetrate throughout.
06 - Transfer the tray to the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden and the meat is cooked through.
07 - While baking, heat the remaining 30 ml olive oil in a skillet and sauté sliced red and white onions over medium heat until translucent and softened.
08 - Incorporate chopped pickled cabbage with carrot and pickled cucumbers into the onions, season with a pinch of black pepper, and cook for a few more minutes until vegetables are warmed and flavors meld.
09 - Remove the baked meat from the oven and allow it to rest briefly. Slice and serve with the warm pickled vegetable medley.
