# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 g potatoes, peeled
02 - 1 small onion, peeled
03 - Pinch of salt
04 - Pinch of ground black pepper
05 - 3 tablespoons plain flour
06 - 1 medium egg
07 - Vegetable oil, for frying

# Steps:

01 - Peel the potatoes and onion. Grate them finely, then squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a clean kitchen towel.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes and onion with salt, pepper, flour, and the egg. Mix thoroughly to form a cohesive batter.
03 - Heat a generous layer of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
04 - Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening each pancake with the back of a spoon. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.
05 - Transfer the pancakes to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately for best texture.

# Notes:

01 - For a lighter alternative, bake pancakes on a greased sheet at 200°C until golden, flipping halfway through.
02 - Serve traditionally with sour cream or applesauce.
