Cheesy layers of zucchini, savory beef, and marinara create a comforting family favorite for busy weeknights.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 g ground beef
02 - 1 onion, diced
03 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 4 small zucchinis, sliced evenly
05 - 240 ml marinara sauce

→ Cheese Topping

06 - 100 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
07 - 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated

→ Seasoning

08 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
09 - 0.5 teaspoon paprika
10 - 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 23x33 cm baking dish.
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat.
03 - In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef mixture with half of the shredded mozzarella, half of the grated Parmesan, zucchini slices, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes until evenly combined.
04 - Transfer mixture into prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
05 - Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese topping is bubbling and golden brown.
06 - Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

# Notes:

01 - Drain excess grease after browning the beef if a higher-fat blend is used to avoid an oily dish.
02 - Slice zucchinis evenly to ensure uniform cooking and pat dry if they release excess moisture.
03 - Use freshly shredded cheese for optimal melting and texture.
04 - Allow the dish to rest after baking to set properly for easier serving.
05 - Increase red pepper flakes or add hot sauce for additional heat, according to taste.
